Today we’re revealing all stats about this blog, just to provide some nice benchmarking for other bloggers. At the same time we’re shattering the dream that one can get rich of monetizing your blog. Well, probably it’s possible but not with this one. The last time I used Adsense I basically made $0.04 in two days and then got kicked out.
Anyway, I started this blog in october 2010 and write almost 200 posts of which 177 are still live, basically I kicked out all posts which might be perceived as sexual controversial. Adding those posts was also more of a SEO test which worked, this blog was found almost only on xxx related search queries and totally not for the queries that were actually relevant.
So here it is, let’s start with the core, the visits. On a good day this blog gets 200 visits but over the whole month it averages 138 visits per day. So far this blog got a bit over 40.000 visits of which 34.000 are uniques.

Morris Kline once said “Statistics are the mathematical theory of ignorance”, well that may be true but in our business we love statistics. Sure, statistics are almost always subjective but they let us come as close to the truth as possible and give us some guidance if what we’re doing actually has the desired effect.
Nuff said! Here are the latest statistics regarding the top 50 countries on Internet and their connection speeds. Indonesia, which is #16 in the world based on the number of Internet users is on the 48th place in this top 50. So to all Internet startup entrepreneurs and developers in Indonesia we say make sure your application is lean and mean enough to still provide a pleasant user experience, it might just be the edge you need to beat your (foreign) competitors!

Time for some serious blogging. Mind you, we’ve got to keep working on our credibility because we don’t want people to think this blog is only a sarcastic parody on what goes on in the digital market. So let’s talk serious, let’s talk KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators), specifically website KPI’s. Cool stuff? I mean KPI’s are AWESOME. Nothing better to impress your colleague entrepreneurs with a comment like “yeah we just hit 450.000 visits per day”, look at those faces, admiration combined with jealousy all around.
